I heard about this "Internet Chatgroup" thingy and thought I'd try it
out. Is this thing on?
Yeah the clock is ticking. People were happy to forget the Neuheisel
era, where egos and players flew around unchecked. Ty brought a level
of QUIET to the campus. But if he doesn't perform on the field he can
be considered a springboard to winning, bridging the gap between
suckitude and a mediocre but clean team.
He came in and cleaned up but never endeared himself to the fans or
media and as a result it'll be much easier to pull the plug on him and
switch to somebody who can "take it to the next level."
But the truth is he's done as well as can be expected. It's hard to
imagine a faster turnaround than he's had considering where he
started. Unfortunately this is a very tough schedule, maybe the
toughest I've seen. On top of that the team is very young. It'll be
another losing year for the Huskies even if they play to full
potential. Quiz - what is the last bowl team with a freshman QB? I
can't think of one either.
Injuries are already cropping up as well as arrests, which is
something I bet is really hard on him. He was brought in specifically
to keep the team out of the newspapers.
Syracuse absolutely must be beaten. If the team is competitive
against Boise State, Ohio State and USC then he should be given the
chance to finish the job for the rest of his contract - 2 more years
I think. But I don't expect they'll win any of those games and I
won't be surprised if Ty get fired. If they beat Syracuse and at
least one of the next 3 teams then he'll be a hero and everybody will
forget about the arrests and losses.
Greg.
